Hwa Young (*1974)

Sascha Hwa Young Liem has been DJing for more than 10 years, as he started organizing parties & gigs shortly after leaving school, where he was active in various indie-rock bands playing guitar, bass & drums. At this time he got also influenced by funk, jazz & disco. And so, after splitting with the band, his “Funky Motion”/later
“Chunky Liquid”-Parties were about to come (from 1994-1999), where he also presented House, Techno & Breakbeats to the public. Doing just this he played at many other events (examples below), finally being asked to give support to international acts like DJ Sneak, BadBoyBill, Adam Beyer, Terrence Parker a.m.m… as a resident DJ in “Dockland”and “Luna Bar”/Muenster, Germany. First contacts to the polish techno scene – pretty innocent at that time 1995 – where now he is a well established figure, made it easy to decide to move to berlin, where he became member of the “New Noise” – Crew (Shop & Label) and resident at the “Delicopter” events, and started to work on his own music. His versatility as a DJ has seen him play a lot of clubs & gigs in Germany such as “Loveparade”, “Sonne, Mond & Sterne”, several “Titanic Pool Desasters” a.m.m.

A DJ who is best suited to 4 hours plus journeys, his sets range from funky deep, organic house through to cutting edge electrofied minimal-house and are sometimes springled with some juicy surprises from the popmusic-cosmos. In 2002 & 2003 he also organizes the “zwo3” events in the backyard of the highly claimed “WMF”-club in Berlin, where international Acts such as Miss Kittin, Ricardo Villalobos, Erobique etc. are rocking a nice crowd with him a few times a year. As a latest addition to his career in 2005, Hwa Young has been asked to play as a permant Resident-DJ at Zoom-Club/Nuernberg, Germany & Mekka/Warsaw, Poland besides countless DJ-Gigs all over Germany.

A versatile DJ, whose love of music shines through his sets, who is always ready to keep the crowd on it´s feet.
